Micromax launches Yu phone - a delight for geeks

Recently Micromax tied with cyanogen.Inc for its cyanogenMod ROM. Micromax did this to complete with many other Chinese brands with cyanogen ROM this could mean additional feature. As cyanogen ROM offers lots of customization which is a delight for geeks.

Micromax just fulfilled their need by launching their first phone running on cyanogen ROM. The phone is called 'yu' which is short for yureka. The phone is budget priced phone but packs some incredible specs for the buck.

Specs include:

• A 5.5 inch IPS display with gorilla glass 3
• 1.5 GHz 64- bit Octavia core Qualcomm snapdragon 610 chip
• With adreno 405 GPU
• 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage (expandable up to 128gb)

The phone's primary camera is 13 mp shooter with f2.2 aperture with Sony EXMOR CMOS sensor and a 5 MP front facing camera with 71° field of view. The phone supports dual Sim and supports 4G TDD LTE ( CAT 4 speeds) and has a 2500 mAh battery.

The best feature of this phone is the cyanogen ROM which is designed over vanilla ROM with some high customization capabilities and themes. Plus the phone will come with unlockable boot loader.
