Two of the best android tablets of the year 2014 were nexus 9 and nvidia shield tablet. both the tablet had similar specs but have different price so which one is better than the other here is the specs shootout
nexus 9 has a 8.9-inch, 2048 x 1536 pixel IPS display which has a aspect ratio of 5:4,where as shield tablet has 8-inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display IPS LCD with the 16:9 aspect ratio. the difference in the aspect ratio can be an important factor as most of the videos are made in 16:9 aspect ratio shield has a edge here so if you are going to play lots of games and watch movies and videos shield definitely is better how ever if you want to surf the web or read books nexus 9s 5:4 gives ideal.
Nexus 9 has 8 mp primary camera and a 1.6 MP front facing camera whereas shield has 5 MP front as well as primary camera
Both have dual front facing speakers, and are available in 16 & 32 GB versions. Both run lollipop. both are LTE ready.

while both the tablets have NVIDIAs K1 chip both have a different versions of it. the nexus 9 has the 64 bit dual core whereas shield has 32 bit quad core 2.3Ghz Denver with kepler kepler DX1 GPU shield has 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex A15 CPU with 192 core Kepler GPU both the tablets have 2GB ram. the performance on both the tablets is smooth and all tasks work without any lag. but the 65-bit chip seems more future proofCAMERA

nexus 9 has better resolution display which also produces better colors than sheild. nexus will be first to get the android updates. battery is slightly better on nexus 9. it looks much better and has less edges than shield.
