Can overcharging damage your smartphone?

Samsung Galaxy S6 - did Samsung finally pulled it off this year

Samsung finally previewed their new flagship galaxy S6 along with S6 edge after all the previews, leaks and renders. But did Samsung really pulled it off this time? Will it be able to sell like previous Samsung galaxy S4 did or will be be a fail just like galaxy S5?

it's been in news quite a now not because of its features because of it's resemblance with the Apple's iPhone 6's design. The ear phones also resembles the Apple's earpods. But still according to Samsung, the galaxy S6 is going to break sales record.

Let's look what Samsung's got to offer with their all new flagship Galaxy S6

It runs on exynos 7420 processor which is based on 14nm FinFET process nodes which should give it all the performance it needs. It also has 3gigs of RAM to handle multi tasking and run all apps without lag.

The camera is a 16 MP shooter which can also record 4k videos. It also has OIS which was missing from galaxy s5 due to Samsung's homemade ISOCELL camera module. It has 5 mp selfie camera which has a 90° wide angle lens. The camera focuses very fast and uses the camera2 API of android lollipop which can give it more manual controls (lets see how Samsung makes it on the final version). The camera module slightly protudes from the back. The camera app is updated too with some new animations and some new features. The camera app can be triggered by double tapping the home button and it will open the camera in just 0.7 seconds. The quality is yet to be seen as it is made available for testing.

The display is a 5.1 inch super AMOLED display which produces amazing contrast (best on any
smartphone) they have also pumped up the display resolution to quadHD which in my opinion was not necessary considering the display size. It will now consume more juice from that tiny battery which should reduce the battery life.

The battery is 2600mah one which might give it a SOT just about 4.5 hours (just an assumption). It now supports Qi wireless charging without needing of a special case. It also has fast charging which charge your phone to 50% in 30 minutes. But the phone is no longer IP67 certified, meaning it is not waterproof like GS5. Another thing that is changed about GS5 was the unibody design which also meant that there will be no expandable storage or removable battery which users will get used to it after sometimes.

This basically sums up all that we know about the device. We still know a very little about the TouchWiz on android lollipop. (On which Samsung said - that they have reduced bloatware upto 40%) which we still have to see after its available for review.

So will Samsung Galaxy S6, would be a worth to upgrade?
If you are a Samsung user and used to TouchWiz and using GS4, it's definitely time to update. If you are using a GS5, it's still upto you if you are OK with non removable battery and no SD card slot.

Is it the best galaxy flagship?
Well it seems to correct all its mistakes that they were accused of specially the built materials. They have top of the line specs, camera and software.

What did Samsung did right and wrong
Right
- no SD card slot - some apps can't be installed on sd card anyways and it was necessary for the new design
- built materials - Samsung was always accused of using plastic for building phones. Samsung this time used full aluminum body and frame
- Software - we still know very less known about software but it's new animations looks nicer. They also have included the themes option which would change the color scheme and font of system UI and some core apps.
- camera - Samsung decided to ditch their housemade camera module which didn't hsve OIS and gone with the sony made module.

Wrong
- design - well the new materials sure are premium but the back is glossy back is not for everyone. The matte finish would've looked more classy.
- software - the preview of lollipop still stutters snd apps takes time to open. The color scheme looks cartooney. Plus the icons are still the same
-IP67 certification - being waterproof was a really a good feature that needs to be standard in all Smartphones but Samsung for some reason decided not to go this time.
- Samsung pay - this was totally unnecessary, as it's already is based on android and android pay is just to be announced. This just adds another bloatware.
