AMC & Dolby to bring next level of entertainment to movie theaters using Laser projectors and Dolby atmos surround sound system

Over the few years there's been a great revolution in display technologies. We have pixel densities higher than human eye could distinguish. Also the way we consume content thanks to services like Netflix etc.
But the movie theaters didn't get any revolutionary changes apart from better surround sound system and using 3D. But the core technology of projectors remained the same. AMD & Dolby is all about to change it. The have partnered to bring next step in movie entertainment. They will use the new  the theatrical version of Dolby Vision, the high dynamic range content and display solution convinced with new dual 4k HDR Laser projectors.
These new projectors will give  brighter and more detailed image with better contrast and dynamic range than any previous projection system ever existed. This will sure change the movie experience and make it more immersive.
They will begin updating it's screens starting with their AMC prime screens and then others after. These already have Dolby's atmos, it's latest surround sound system which also have drivers which are rigged into the seats and are integrated with the movie soundtrack so if there's an explosion or a crash in the movie the seats rumble to match the explosion which adds to the incredibly great Dolby atmos.
This needs a lot of time and money which will surly increase ticket prices. But better and more immersive experience will give people a reason to leave their home entertainment system and experience something new. This is still a concept and will take time to upgrade Four of the locations Los Angeles, Kansas City, Houston, and Atlanta will debut Dolby Cinema in mid-May, with an additional four locations to follow by the end of June. They expect to have 50 locations active by the end of 2018, with the number hitting 100 by 2024.
