Can overcharging damage your smartphone?

Things android needs to sort out

So..umm title. Yeah that alone, I am sure pissed a lot of people. And i can already hear people commenting workarounds.

But screw that. I love technology but i am not biased on any OS. Sure i use a Nexus and other android devices but also respect iOS (not iphone as a product, but iOS as an OS). Now i loved new features in android 'N' but still, there are certain things that are lacking in both OS's i would point out a few of in this post for android.

NOTE : MANY FEATURES CAN/ARE ALREADY THERE IN OEM SKINS BUT THIS POST IS FOR VANILLA ANDROID

1. Fragmentation
This topic alone is an issue for whole new post. And i did that too. (Link) basically android needs to have more control over OEMs over pushing the OS updates.

2. Camera software
Android phones have great camera no doubt. But it mostly depends on hardware (shit loads of OEMs) and software optimisation. So i won't go there pointing out every OEM. Instead I'll focus on vanilla andoid. Google introduced camera2API with lollipop and promised manual controls. Two years from that still no signs of that in Google camera app.

3. Multiple apps
This is what pisses me off the most and reason that made me write this post. Google team researches new cool features and then decide to dump them in a new app. But they just forget about the existing ones. Yes i am talking about hangouts. When google merged sms in the hangouts i was more than happy coz there was one less app to deal with. Hangouts is great specifically for group video chats. But then google decided they need another video chatting app (duo) if that wasn't stupid enough They decided you can see the caller before even accepting the call (girls get ready for nudes when you're having a dinner conversation with your family). Oh and to take on WhatsApp they announced yet another app (allo) which nodoubt was impressive with it's smart replies and image recognition and Google as  bot. But they could've easily used these features in hangouts app to make it more useful and put low latency video chat and searching from cellular to data from duo. So you have hangouts instead of duo+ allo+ messenger+ hangouts.

-This is the same case for Gmail app
-Reminders can be set in both displayed in Google keep app and calender app.
-There's two apps for news.

4. Download manager
Android sucks in downloading files no argument in that. That's why i have to use ADM. When you download a file there is simply no way to cancel or pause the download other than killing the process in settings. Google needs a decent download manager with multi thread download support.

5. A decent sound equaliser
Google, If thats too hard to do. Just buy poweramp or viper4andoid. And shove that into your OS and Google play music app. Default equaliser sucks. BIG TIME.

6. Some UI glitches & feature requests
That's not much of a big deal but needs some attention from andoid development team like -

-the app opening and closing animation it doesn't makes any sense when you fire up an app it opens like a ripple and takes up the whole screen, great when you close it it goes down instead of using the same animation as opening just reversed.

-The battery percentage is barely visible in the icon they think giving the percentage next to icon is too mainstream.

-A reboot button in power menu. Seriously Google is it too much to ask?

-double tap to sleep. Easy to implement it their code but very useful.

-Gapps - update the blogger it looks like a 90s app. And sorting of music and photos by folders in Google music and photos app. Bring back hyperlapse mode in camera app.
