Qualcomm's 'make in india' challenge aims to scoop engineering talent from country

Qualcomm has created the Qualcomm® Design in India Challenge in collaboration with The National
Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). This initiative is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision to bring about a paradigm shift from a services-driven model to a manufacturing model for indigenous products that will cater to the needs of India and the rest of the world. The goal is to catalyze creation of a product and hardware design ecosystem in India in the domains of smartphones, tablets and Internet of Everything (IoT) products for Healthcare, Education, Banking, Automotive, Wearables and Smart Cities.

The Qualcomm Design in India Challenge was first announced on December 1, 2015 with an aim to scale India to a design hub by leveraging India’s vast pool of engineering talent. We are now ushering into the second phase of the challenge with the announcement of our Top 10 shortlists that will receive $10,000 each and will now proceed to the prototyping phase. From the shortlists, up to three winners will be chosen to receive up to $100,000 each as recognition and encouragement for future efforts.
