Google's home baked phone Pixel was the made to compete directly with iPhone. But upon release in 2016, it got mixed reviews. Despite having top of the line hardware and camera quality, it lacked on a few basic features that made it difficult to suggest to anyone and its high price didn't seem justifiable.

Google has already started working on pixel 2 and a prototype phone code named Taimen, has been benchmarked on PrimateLabs website. Its running Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 @ 1.90 GHz
1 processor, 8 cores with 4Gb RAM which is standard for a 2017 smartphone.

The phone scored pretty impressive scores. But still gets beaten by iPhone 7 in single core tests. Scores are some what similar to Samsung's Galaxy S8 in both single core and multi core. Pixel's vanilla android would make it snappier than Galaxy S8.

The phone's specifications are still unknown and wont be launched anytime soon. keep in mind this was tested on a prototype but final results will be somewhat similar.
